Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2020

A final decision has been taken on Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2020 along with the county and provincial fleadhanna. It can now be confirmed that none of these will go ahead. Mór an trua.

Fáilte

Fáilte chuig suíomh idirlíon Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Craobh Loch Garman! Welcome to the official online presence of the Wexford Town branch of Comhaltas, one of the fastest growing branches in the Country! We have members in Rosslare, Rathangan, Taghmon, Crossabeg, Screen, Wexford town and points in between. Join today through our membership page and become a part of the Wexford family of musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers. We are committed to the preservation of Irish traditional music, song, dance and, of course, language. Bígí linn!

One of our main aims is to bring Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann to Wexford. Tá sé ag teacht. Is é an cheist ná cáthain! In the meantime we will continue with our efforts to increase awareness of, and appreciation for, traditional culture in Wexford.

Fograí

There will be no fleadhanna this year - county, provincial or national. We remain at the mercy of the big bug which started in the east but which is now all over the globe. Our hearts go out to everyone in Westmeath Comhaltas who we know have put in so much time and energy for an event which will not now happen. We look forward to travelling to Mullingar for Fleadh 2021

We held our 2nd annual Wexford Trad & Folk Weekend before the pandemic axe fell. Bhí sé go h-iontach! Imagine if that was the first and last festival of the year in Wexford!

Má bhíonn suim agat sa cheol, sa chraic, agus sa chuideachta mheidhreach, bíonn áit agat so chraobh seo. Bígí linn! Join via the membership page. Note: Applications for Comhaltas membership for the current year will be taken up to May 31. Membership applications/renewals for the year ahead (2020/2021) will be taken from Sept 1.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. We’re a non-profit cultural movement with hundreds of local branches around the world, and as you can read in our history we’ve been working for the cause of Irish music since the middle of the last century (1951 to be precise). Our efforts continue with increasing zeal as the movement launches itself into the 21st century.
